Argentina sets higher ethanol and biodiesel prices for May

In Argentina, GBM reports Argentina has set new values for biofuels that have been used at the local level since May, according to two resolutions published Monday in the Official Gazette.

According to the Ministry of Energy, a minimum price of 1,005,872 pesos per liter ($0.72) was determined for bioethanol based on sugar cane, from a previous amount of 1,000,868 pesos per liter.

The official publication also provided a new value for maize-based bioethanol that was set at 921,910 pesos per liter (about 0.66 dollars) from an earlier price of 917,323 pesos per liter.

Another resolution announced that the new amount for biodiesel destined for its mandatory mixture with diesel will be 1,808,425 pesos per ton (about 1,294.50 dollars), since the last 1,808,690 pesos per ton.

The new values for biofuels “will come into effect from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette” and “until the publication of a new price that replaces it,” the publications reported.
